Virus Removal FAQ
Will I lose my files?
Virus removal doesn’t normally mean erasing your computer. In the rare case where a fresh Windows install is the better fix, we’ll talk it through with you first, including how to save your files.
Do I need to buy antivirus software?
Windows includes Microsoft Defender, which does the job for most people when it’s kept up to date. We can tell you whether anything else makes sense for how you use your computer.
Is it a virus, or is my computer just old?
That’s what a diagnosis is for. “Slow” can be malware, a failing hard drive, or not enough memory. We figure out which before recommending anything.
